German Progressive Rock act LONG DISTANCE CALLING are gearing up for the release of their 8th studio album entitled Eraser. In keeping with the band’s fascination and interests with social and world issues, Eraser is a tribute to the gradual erosion of nature by man. I had the chance to speak with bassist and founder Jan Hoffman ahead of the album’s release.
Highlights include:
-Discussion of the new album Eraser
-Brining cinematic elements to their sound
-How visuals are as important as the music
-Signing with earMUSIC
-What earMUSIC brings to the table that old label didn’t
-Importance of a physical product
-Marketing via “nerds”
-Highlights of their recent Seats & Sounds Tour
-Future touring plans
-Band members’ ties to Death Metal
-The quality that went into recording the album
-Hoffman’s opinion on PANTERA reunion
-Aspirations to open for PORCUPINE TREE
-And much, much more
