While there are elements of bands such as MAIDEN/PRIEST what really impressed me the most about this album and the band is the band very much has an old school/traditional Metal sound but they don't sound like every other Metal band out there. They have an original sound that really is all their own! PROJECT RESURRECT as a band just really shines throughout the entire album but to my ears it is Lead Singer Leandro Bostos' vocals that really stand out! I say that because I have no doubt that like so many Metal singers out there that he was influenced by singers such as Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, and Geoff Tate but again this guy has a sound that he just owns and it's his vocals throughout the entire album that really stand out to me!
While this CD has only 8 songs on it I still feel like I got the entire package on this one. There's not a single filler song on False Reality, all 8 songs really rocked my world and I was left feeling satisfied because not only did PROJECT RESURRECT deliver the goods on this album with all 8 songs but they did a beautiful job of showing their diversity! For example, on the song "Dead Mountain" I'd describe the song as the band's softer side but it's far from what anyone could call a Power Ballad! All Metal, all the way and that's just the way I like it!
