 It's Z'Nuff For Me: An Exclusive Interview With CHIP Z'NUFF By Shelly Harris, Chicago Contributor Wednesday, November 10, 2021 @ 10:54 AM
Chip Z'Nuff of ENUFF Z'NUFF is the quintessential Chicago area bro - as much as any guy could ever possibly be - even after all his years involved in the national and international music scene, although he started locally as early as the late 70s when he was just a kid growing up in the blue collar neighboring town of Blue Island that borders on the infamous South Side.
He's got the gritty voice, the "Da Bears" accent, the bravado, the gift of gab, and - most of all - the ever present gumption that he's always had since the earliest days of ENUFF Z'NUFF, and as demonstrated now by the three albums the band has released in just over a year, in addition to the touring that was slipped in early on in 2021 and continues to this day.
Specifically, we are on a Zoom call from the North Side to the South Side to discuss ENUFF Z'NUFF's soon-to-be-released recordings of an eclectic assortment of BEATLES-penned tunes on an album that is called Hardrock Nite, which is a deep dive into one of ENUFF Z'NUFF's foremost influences. The CD of the 10 songs is set for release November 12, while the white vinyl limited edition is due out on December 10th.
In this interview Chip - a real buff on all details of the history of the rock genre in general - elaborates about the new album, how the songs were chosen, and the entire recording process, as well as his activities and touring past, present, and future. For good measure we throw in discussion of the local Chicago music scene going back and looking forward.
