Yngwie Malmsteen Announces National Tour By Newsferatu, Writer Tuesday, October 18, 2005 @ 12:08 AM
Taking some time off after his last album, Attack!!, Yngwie Malmsteen emerged this year with not one but two new releases and has now added a national tour to his list of things to do for 2005.
Revealing dates for a national routing that will take him from Jacksonville to San Francisco in as little as two-months, Yngwie plans to stay on the road through 2006 in support of his two new projects, Unleash The Fury and Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra DVD.
Unleash the Fury, which hit stores July 26th through Spitfire Records, has been receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike and has even been hailed as one of his best works to date. In fact, Guitar Player magazine wrote, "Unleash the Fury will delight his hardcore fans. The record is a straight-up metal affair with Malmsteen's incendiary neo-classical thumbprint inhabiting every nook and cranny."
Also being released this year is Yngwie's long-awaited Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra DVD which was filmed in 2001 with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted by Taizo Takemoto.
Initially only released overseas, North American fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival here on November 1st. Malmsteen has performed his concerto suite live with an orchestra just seven times.
An interview with Malmsteen is included as a special bonus feature.
Channeling the energy from both of these projects, Malmsteen says that this tour will be like nothing anyone has ever witnessed before. And, if his stage show is as intricate and exciting as his latest releases, then fans are definitely in for a big surprise!
