COC Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In By Newsferatu, Writer Sunday, June 26, 2005 @ 10:29 AM
The June 23rd incident took place around 11:30pm. A large crowd had gathered inside The Masquerade at 1503 E. Seventh Ave. for the Corrosion Of Conformity show. A fight started between two women in the mosh pit, police said. As other concertgoers tried to separate the two, the fight escalated, ending with Thomas Laskas, 30, stabbed several times in the upper body. The man who stabbed Laskas - Michael John Pyne - then stabbed Laskas' wife, Wendy, 30, and two other men, Nicholas Stegall, 21, and Dallas Ashe, 30.
Thomas Laskas, 29, died of his injuries early Friday morning at Tampa General Hospital. Pyne has admitted to being at the club and having a knife, but claims he doesn't remember anything after seeing his girlfriend in a fight. He is being held without bond at Hillsborough County jail.
