Vince Neil Live in Las Vegas By Tokemaster General, Contributor Monday, November 8, 2004 @ 1:19 PM
On September 30, it was announced Vince Neil would be performing free of charge at 3pm on Sunday, October 3. I knew it wouldn’t be a full 90-minute show, but Nikki Sixx has been in town, so who knows what might happen.
The concert was held at Skin, which is basically the pool area with a stage set up. I saw Vince at the Hard Rock in November and he was so drunk he didn’t finish “Wild Side” and had to restart “Teaser” halfway through. He even fell into the audience at one point. It was rather sad.
Then in May, I saw him at Boulder Station. It was a good setlist. He sang “Ten Seconds To Love” for the first time in ages. He wasn’t fighting with the girlfriend and didn’t appear intoxicated.
Vince came on at 3:30 and went right into “Kickstart My Heart.” Next tune was “Live Wire.” Early in the set he sang a new tune “they’ve” been working on. Not sure on who “they” are, but I would have to say him and Nikki. Nonetheless, the tune was good. It was called “Promise Me. In concert, it sounded kinda ‘80s. He pointed out Desmond
Child in the audience, so I would say he has some input towards the next Motley Crue disc.
The show lasted 45 minutes. Cameras and microphones were everywhere. VH-1 was filming for the makeover thing Vince was doing. The truth is, he looks all right. The last time I saw him was in May, but he’d lost 20-30 pounds, was tan, his hair is shoulder length and red. But not as red as the Generation Swine days.
The other tunes he played were the standards: “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Wild Side,” “Same ‘Ol Situation,” “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away),” “Looks That Kill,” “Home Sweet Home" and “Dr. Feelgood.” The show was good. It was definitely not a bad way to
spend a Sunday afternoon in Vegas.
