W.A.S.P. Opening Night in Las Vegas By Tokemaster General, Contributor Friday, July 16, 2004 @ 0:52 AM
Wow! I hadn't seen W.A.S.P. since maybe 1985 when they opened for Black Sabbath.
It was right when their second album (yes, you read that correct) came out.
Now here it is in 2004 and WASP still rocks.
They played 3 songs in succession before Blackie hit the mic to speak. The first tune was "On Your Knees," then "Inside The Electric Circus" to "Chainsaw Charlie." The show is so like an ‘80s metal show. Only the pyrotechnics were missing. Plenty of
smoke, black lights, strobes and loud W.A.S.P.
They then played "L.O.V.E Machine," "F**K Like A Beast" and "Wild Child." Then they played four new tunes from The Neon God. The show ends with "The Real Me" before Blackie makes sure everybody is somebody with "I Wanna Be Somebody."
The first encore was "Forever Free." Blackie and acoustic was it on stage. Then the rest of the band came out and "Blind in Texas" finished the set.
The House of Blues is an awesome place to see a show. Tix were only $15 and $20 bucks. Definitely a good show and worth the price of admission.
