Dizzy Reed, With His Band Hook

Rock legend Dizzy Reed rocked the house down at his pre-birthday bash last night at the Hard Rock Café in Boston. Dizzy's birthday may be June 18, but the way everyone was partying and having a good time, you would think it was tonight. Dizzy Reed and his band Hookers-N-Blow played until closing and the fans still wanted more. The band is heating up the East Coast this weekend.

Hookers-N-Blow features Dizzy Reed on guitar, vocals and keyboards, Alex Grossi and Matt Starr from Beautiful Creatures on guitar, Troy Patrick Farrell on drums, and Curtis Longfellow on bass.

The band hit the stage at 11:30. Matt Starr sang "Mama Kin." Matt has an incredible voice and it was fun to see him playing guitar and singing out front, instead of being hid behind his drums. Matt also sang "Surrender" by Cheap Trick and looked so cute sporting his new age black army dress and sneakers.

Dizzy played a lot of classic rock songs including "Time of the Season," "Strutter" by KISS and "Ziggy Stardust."

Dizzy Reed tickled the ivories with his amazing keyboard and piano playing. Dizzy has been in GNR for 14 years. Dizzy says, “Axl Rose said way back that he was going to add a keyboard player and he it would be him.” After last night’s performance, Dizzy proved he is one of the best keyboard players in music today.

Dizzy played alot of his favorite early Stones tunes including "Brown Sugar," "Dead Flowers" and encore "Sympathy For The Devil." The band also played Grand Funk Railroad's song, "Were an American Band."

Dizzy toasted the audience in his pre-birthday bash, and asked, “Any Red Sox fans in the house? I'm from Chicago and feel your pain.” I thought that was so cool! The Hard Rock staff kept giving the band free drinks all night long!

By that time it was 1Am, and Hookers-N-Blow were still going strong. Dizzy yells, "I feel like playing all night." The band then sang "Saturday is Alright for Fighting." Dizzy played guitar on a few songs including "Knockin’ On Heaven's Door." They ended the show with "Sympathy For The Devil."
