KNAC.COM's Own Frank Meyer Pens Variety Web-Log By Tokemaster General, Contributor Tuesday, December 16, 2003 @ 2:09 PM
"This is an amazing opportunity," Meyer said. "The column is about the mainstreaming of porn, and there is no better example of that topic than the very fact that Variety asked me to spearhead this."
Meyer -- who also writes for AVN magazine, Launch.com, LA Weekly, Bizarre magazine, and was an editor at POPsmear magazine -- is a published author whose debut book, On the Road With the Ramones, was released worldwide this month by Sanctuary Music Group’s Publishing Division, Sanctuary Publishing. On the Road with the Ramones was co-written by Meyer with Ramones tour manager Monte A. Melnick and tells the story of the seminal New York punk band’s 22-year career on the road. An oral history with a narrative, Meyer and Melnick interviewed the band members of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers, their friends and family and members of Blondie, Talking Heads, New York Dolls and many others for this full color 302-page tome.
On the Road with the Ramones can be purchased at bookstore near you or via www.amazon.com. Meyer and Melnick will appear alongside Tommy and CJ Ramone this Wednesday, December 17, at New York's Virgin Megastore in Union Square at 6:30 pm to sign copies of the book. Meyer's new band Sweet Justice will perform later that night at the Continental alongside CJ's band Bad Chopper.
Meyer is also the singer/guitarist in the punk rock 'n' roll band The Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, who issued eight albums, appeared on 55 other releases and toured the world extensively before he left the group to concentrate on writing full time.
