The Ramones In New York! By Tokemaster General, Contributor Thursday, December 11, 2003 @ 9:49 AM
On Wednesday, December 17th, Ramones members Tommy and CJ will appear at a book signing at New York's Virgin Megastore in Union Square to celebrate the release of On the Road With the Ramones. The book, co-authored by tour manager Monte A. Melnick and KNAC.com contributing editor Frank Meyer, was released last week through Sanctuary Publishing and chronicles the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers 22 years on the road as a touring act. Melnick and Meyer will also appear at the signing, as well as Punk magazine founder John Holmstrom, who also illustrated the book's cover. The signing starts at 6:30pm.
Later that night, CJ's band Bad Chopper and Meyer's outfit Sweet Justice will perform at an after party for the signing held at the Continental (25 Third Ave., 212-529-6924), which is open to the public (though there is a small cover charge). This show marks the New York debut of the former Streetwalkin' Cheetahs frontman's Sweet Justice, which features Bruce Duff (ADZ, 45 Grave, Jeff Dahl) and Chris Markwood (formerly of the Bellrays). Also on the bill are Kevin K (Road Vultures) and a special mini-set by Meyer, members of Sour Jazz, Ramones producer Daniel Rey and Kevin K.
On the Road with the Ramones can be purchased at bookstore near you or at www.amazon.com. More information can be found at www.thestreetwalkincheetahs.com.
