I'll tell you what, people may think that they are in for a hell of a mosh pit when they go see bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit. Those people won't know a real mosh pit till they've witnessed the fury of Suffocation.
This was their third show since returning to the scene after a 5 year hiatus. From the first chords of “Thrones of Blood” (which was the opener) to the final chords of “Breeding the Spawn” (closer), it was every man for himself.
With an almost completely original line-up that included the returns of drummer Mike Smith and bassist Josh Barohn, Suffocation broke out classic such as “Effigy of the Forgotten,” “Infecting the Crypts,” “Pierced from Within,” “Suspended in Tribulation,” “Torn into Enthrallment” and the always insanely brutal and legendary classic, “Liege of Inveracity.”
Talking to Frank before the show for a while was an added bonus and let me tell you -- there is no cooler person in death metal than Frank Mullen. This is a guy that is in it for the music and the death metal scene and death metal definitely needed his return and the return of the KINGS OF BRUTALITY. If anyone is into heavy music at all, not even just death metal, this is the band to see live. You will be blown away with their brutality and energy.
