FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
NORWEGIAN PUNKS TURBO-CHARGE THE STATES ON LATEST TOUR
TURBONEGRO GEARS UP FOR RELEASE OF SCANDINAVIAN LEATHER IN STORES MAY 6 AND SHOOTS NEW VIDEO WITH SPIKE JONZE AND THE JACKASS CREW
In anticipation of their upcoming Epitaph release Scandinavian Leather (in stores May 6) Norway's hardest rocking and most homoerotic sextet Turbonegro recently wrapped up their first American tour in over four years, opening up for Queens Of The Stone Age and headlining sold out club dates in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. Combining pop, punk, goth, glam, metal, man-love and arena rock into one glorious stew, the Denim Demons of Turbonegro have triumphantly returned.
Critics on both coasts were wildly impressed with Turbonegro's reunion shows; LA Weekly raved, "Turbonegro could prove to be the last great real rock band - a band whose ideals are held together by stubbornness, singular vision, humor, a disregard for common sense and good taste, and the ability to musically kick major ass." Meanwhile the LA Times declared, "Turbonegro is designed to be the greatest band in the world.... loud and delirious, tasteless and refined... Turbonegro delivers," and the Miami New Times wrote, "The 2003 version of Turbonegro looks good enough to win the Breeder's Cup."
While on tour in the States, Turbonegro took time out to shoot the video for their apocalyptic anthem "Sell Your Body To The Night." Co-directed by Jeff Tremaine, the director of Jackass - The Movie and Spike Jonze, the video features special appearances by members of the Jackass crew who are long time fans of Turbonegro. Johnny Knoxville (who's been quoted saying, "Turbonegro is the best band in the world. Thatīs just the way it is") appears in the video, as does 'Wolfboy' Jesus 'Chuy' Aceves and an actual grizzly bear!
