Dee Snider at the Hard Rock Orlando By Tokemaster General, Contributor Sunday, November 3, 2002 @ 8:29 AM
A few friends and myself were lucky enough to find about a special invite only show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando on Halloween. It was part of a special monthly thing called velvet sessions, except this night they featured Dee Snider. There were a couple of local bands playing before hand while everyone walked around in their costumes and had free beer and wine along with food also. ($20 to get in but you got free food, beer and wine).
When Dee finally hit the stage we rushed right up to the front. He was joined on stage by original Twisted Sister drummer AJ Pero, along with a couple of guitarists who I didn’t catch their name, and Derek Tailer on bass, from Overkill. We were hoping that Dee would have put on the old Twisted Sister outfit, but they were adorned in face paint instead. He did however have the original jacket from the come out and play tour there with him to donate to the Hard Rock and put it on during the song “The Price”.
At one point Dee announced that he had some special guests with him and brought on Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple and Pat Travers. They played smoke on the water together. As far as Dee Snider was concerned he was full of energy and sounded in top form. It was good to hear those old songs again.
Here is the set list from what I can remember:
