Prong will release 100% Live, its first live album and first
official recording since reforming earlier this year, on October 29 via
Locomotive Music.
With the release of 100% Live, the band is mounting its third U.S. tour and
first European tour of this year. Prong debuted its new lineup, which
includes singer/guitarist/founder Tommy Victor, bassist Brian Perry, drummer
Dan Laudo, and tour guitarist Monte Pittman, on a spring headline tour
during which 100% Live was recorded.
The headline tour was followed by an opening slot on Danzigs U.S. tour and
select headline and festival dates in London and Belgium.
Founded in 1986 by Victor, Prong put the New York hardcore scene on notice
with two acclaimed independent releases, Primitive Origins and Force Fed.
After signing with Epic Records, the trio released 1990s Beg To Differ,
showcasing a refined approach accented by elements of progressive thrash.
Prove You Wrong, released the following year, saw the band experiment with
programming and electronic samples while retaining an aggressive yet melodic
sensibility. Cleansing, released in 1994, cemented the group's reputation
as leaders of the burgeoning industrial rock movement, showcasing a sharper
yet more accessible sound. By the 1996 release of Rude Awakening, Prong's
final album before disbanding, the group had made an indelible mark with its
innovative sound.
The bulk of the songs represented 100% Live come from the latter Prong
releases while also featuring a preview of its new material in the form of
"Initiation," a new track co-written by long time friend and Halford/Diesel
Machine guitarist Pat Lachman. 100% Live was mixed by Pat Regan (Kiss,
Ritchie Blackmore, Diesel Machine).
The track listing for 100% Live is:
1. Rude Awakening
