Coming to the historic Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Blvd.) in Hollywood July 12th & 13th is an in-person tribute to Penelope Spheeris, director of the punk rock-umentaries The Decline of the Western Civilization Parts I - III. (Part II is filled with original KNAC-FM DJ's giving commentaries, KNAC t-shirts, etc. etc. It's the whole "Sunset Strip Metal Scene.")
Film screenings include her irreverent history of the Los Angeles punk scene 1978 to 1981 featuring X, Black Flag, The Germs, Circle Jerks and more plus a special sneak preview of the as-yet-unreleased, raucous Ozzy Osbourne tour film,We Sold Our Souls For Rock & Roll.
Also screening is her comedy classic Wayne's World. Lee Ving of the band Fear and Keith Morris of The Circle Jerks are scheduled to appear with Spheeris.
