Glendale, AZ heavy music powerhouse JOB FOR A COWBOY (JFAC) has announced a spring North American tour in support of its critically acclaimed sophomore album, Ruination. The electrifying group will launch a massive 27 city headlining run on April 21 in Newport, KY. The scheduled five week trek is slated to run through late May.
Support on the JFAC tour will come from Tennessee’s Whitechapel and California’s Cattle Decapitation with Salt Lake City’s Gaza (April 21 – May 5) and Boston’s Revocation (May 15 – 27) as openers. Ticket pre-sales will be available for purchase via Artist Arena beginning Wednesday, March 3 (at 3:00 PM local time) at this location. The tour’s official admat is available for viewing here.
In additional breaking JOB FOR A COWBOY news, the band’s critically acclaimed new album Ruination has been named “Best Extreme Metal Album” by the readers of Guitar World. JFAC, which has been called "The new wave of extreme" by the long-running publication, secures the coveted award while besting efforts by giants such as Behemoth, Immortal and Cannibal Corpse. In the time since the release of the band’s full length debut, JOB FOR A COWBOY has progressed from “the band with the different name” to one of the leading lights for heavy music in the 21st century. The quintet has toured the world to out-and-out acclaim, highlighted by main stage appearances at distinguished music jubilees such as the UK’s Download Festival and Germany’s Wacken Open Air and a North American tour with Slayer and Marilyn Manson as part of the 2009 “ROCKSTAR Energy Mayhem Festival”, where the group was called “one of the tour’s shining highlights.” The quintet’s latest release, Ruination skyrocketed to #42 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart in its first week of release and has met to scads of critical acclaim for its astounding dexterity, scorching attack, sleek arrangement and thundering musical muscle.
