Do you also accept reviews of DVDs? I hope so, so here goes:

I just got finished watching the new DVD release from the the band Whitesnake. FN incredible!

Having seen the band live this past summer at the St.Louis venue "The Pagent", I knew this DVD was going to kick some serious FN Ass! Opening with the Deep Purple's "BURN", David Coverdale and company blazed thru a set of Whitesnake's greatest hits.

What makes this tour and this DVD a must see is the incredible lineup of musicians that Coverdale ssembled. Starting with Doug Aldrich on guitar, who I have been a fan of since seeing him play with Bad Moon Rising at Harrys Back Alley West in North Hollywood. Mr. Aldrich is the most incredible guitar player since Randy Rhoads or even Eddie Van Halen when performing live. Doug plays with a lot of feeling that just blends well with a hard rock blues band. If you do not have the live Dio DVD Live Evil with Mr.Aldrich, by all means, FIND ONE!

So then I must move on to another Aldridge, as in Tommy FN Aldridge. There is not another drummer capable of playing a double kick bass drum kit like Tommy Aldridge! (well maybe Scott Travis [Judas Priest, Racer X, Fight], but thats a a totally different realm.)

Rounding out the rhythm section is Marco Mendoza; a bass player extorinaire. If you're in doubt, just check out out anything Mr. Mendoza has done with Ted Nugent or the John Sykes led Thin Lizzy.

Also on guitar, one Mr.Reb Beach. Having not personallly been much a fan of the band Winger, I missed out on the talent of Mr.Beach. This guy is a phenomonial guitarist whose lead guitar runs challenge, or at least compliment those of Doug Aldrich.

The keyboards are manned by Timothy Drury. I know nothing about this guy, but he keeps the omnipresent mood of the band humming along.

Yeah, OK, what about the song list? David Coverdale plays all the hits of the Whitesnake catalog : In The Still Of The Night, Cryin in The Rain, Fool For Your Lovin', Love Ain't No Stranger, Bad Boys, etc. Coverdale is in particularly fine form, too. His vocals soar with every song, and to most likely his pleasure is only out done when he turns over the microphone to the crowd, who is feverently singing along.

This was easily the the best Rock show I witnessed in 2005. If you missed it, pick this DVD up, and experience the best hard rock performance of possibly a lifetime.
