SHINEDOWN Announce 2016 Tour Dates By Larry Petro, News Monkey Monday, December 14, 2015 @ 2:50 PM
“State Of My Head”, the latest single from their current album Threat To Survival looks to continue SHINEDOWN’s historic run of chart topping hits, having already risen to the top 10 at Mainstream Rock and Active Rock outlets and quickly climbing the Alternative charts. The track’s powerful companion video premiered earlier this month at Yahoo! Music and can be viewed now on KNAC.COM right HERE.
SHINEDOWN made a stunning chart debut earlier this year as Threat To Survival – the band’s fifth studio album and first new release in three years – arrived at #5 on the overall SoundScan/Billboard 200 while simultaneously debuting atop Billboard’s “Rock Albums” and “Top Hard Rock Albums” chart. This time around, SHINEDOWN went in a different direction by working with four producers including the band’s own Eric Bass, who produced the album’s first single, “Cut The Cord”. The #1 single spent a remarkable eight consecutive weeks atop Active Rock airplay charts nationwide. The single’s explosive success continues a record-setting streak in which every one of the 19 singles released over Shinedown’s decade-plus career has ascended to the upper regions of the radio charts – a feat unmatched by any other rock band.
In addition, the “Cut The Cord” companion video – directed by the band’s longtime collaborator Darren Doane (“Devour”, “Sound of Madness”, “Bully”) – has already earned over 8 million views at SHINEDOWN’s official YouTube channel.
SHINEDOWN has just returned from a blockbuster US tour, co-headlined by BREAKING BENJAMIN. The cross-country trek proved a massive success, topping Billboard’s “Hot Tours” recap with ticket sales exceeding $1 million from the final four venues alone. The 24-date arena tour took in an impressive $5.7 million overall.
SHINEDOWN’s Brent Smith and Zach Myers are now wrapping up 2015 with a number of intimate acoustic shows, stopping this week in Flint, MI (December 15th), Traverse City, MI (December 16th), and Louisville, KY (December 18th). The band will then kick off 2016 by joining the UK’s annual “Carnival Of Madness Tour”, alongside fellow hard rock icons BLACK STONE CHERRY and Atlantic Records labelmates HALESTORM for arena dates slated through mid-February. As if that weren’t enough, SHINEDOWN is already set to light up a number of 2016 festivals, including Ft. Myers, FL’s Monster Energy Fort Rock (April 30th) and the UK’s legendary Download Festival (June 12th). For up to the minute news and information, please log on to www.shinedown.com/shows.
